Do you ever get the feeling that you're being watched?

There's more to subway tile than just the tile itself. Today on the blog I shared some of the thought that went into how we chose layout, pattern, grout, and more.
I've spared you the nitty gritty of measurements and installation tips, but if you want those, just say so!

I spent half the weekend deep cleaning this room and the other half designing the layout for the big kitchen remodel.
I think I might finally be getting somewhere! Hopefully we'll have a whole new kitchen this time next year. 🤞

I stick to anniversary gifts that I assume Neil deGrass Tyson would approve of. This print from @thenightskyio represents the stars overhead the day Ross and I got married. I'm not super mushy and we both love a high contrast print, so this minimal-look gift is a winner.

I'm Ashley and along with my husband Ross (and cat Mabel), we've been fixing up a 1914 craftsman bungalow in San Diego, CA. I'm self-taught by DIY network, books, blogs, and YouTube. I'm sharing the whole experience on the blog, The Gold Hive.
I love ice cream, sweaters, the oxfords comma, reciprocating saws, animals, TV, dry humor, sleeping, soul music, unique architecture, house plants, discounts, pajamas, cleaning, and sushi. Did I mention ice cream?
I don't care for the beach, misogyny, inefficiency, water chestnuts, faux finishes, palm trees, unread email inboxes, PDA, high heels, our "president," dancing, red meat, musical theatre, or surprises.
Ross and I met in middle school when he pulled the chair out from underneath me. He travels for work 50% of the year and sometimes I tag along to admire cities with more foliage, less desert climate, and lots of food.
I'm an introverted homebody so the connections I've made through Instagram are such a treat. Go ahead and tell me about yourself or why you're following along!

Is it sweater weather yet? San Diego is still toasty but I'm counting down the days until my favorite chilly season.
