Weekly Roundup

I was never on Twitter, but I jumped on Threads and already like the vibes.

What a legacy.

Every A24 Movie, Ranked. The list is from 2022 so it’s missing Aftersun and other recent gems, but a great read for fans of these films.

We’ve been glued to the French spy show, The Bureau, and can’t recommend it enough. It’s not action packed - more creative and thoughtful. We’re just starting season 3, so no spoilers!

We got this foldable pool for the backyard and so far so good. It has 30,000 5 star reviews, so don't take just my word for it.

A dozen things to say to your kids every day. I really love this IG series.

Did you see the reveal of my house re-paint? And how much the backyard has grown in? Here’s a tour of how things looked mid-June in video form.

Just ordered this top on mega sale for Margot - we have it in another color in a smaller size and had to get a bigger one. The child outgrew the previous top before it arrived in the mail.

I adore the latest short film from Stella Blackmon. So so much.

Friends Yellow Brick Home visited San Diego last last week and it was a lovely time seeing friends that we’ve missed for several years. We used to visit Chicago at least once a year starting about six years ago.

Had to upgrade to these larger bags for putting on the growing grapes to preserve the crop from pests. I have the smaller size for figs, stone fruit, etc. but grapes need more room. Here’s hoping to get a few bunches this year!

I did it, I decided! I ordered this tablecloth for the backyard table.

I’ve had a fascination with siblings (genetics, nature vs. nurture, birth order, happiness, childhood vs. adulthood, etc.) for years and am always looking for data on the relationships. This NYT article (read here for free) scratched the itch. In a study (with a small sample size), 64% said they’re a “good friend” to a sibling, and 45% said a sibling is among their best friends. 8% said they were never close. What do you think? My armchair analysis of people I know says very few are close friends with siblings. Please help me run my own study by sharing your observations!

Just upgraded to this hair brush for Margot and her curls. It’s the perfect detangler.

Before you read how it’s done, glance at these photos and imaging how they’re created. I think I even prefer them in video form.

We buy this in bulk but I still expect to run out frequently this summer.

Margot gets compliments on her sunglasses quite frequently - they’re these. What I like is they come in various sizes that actually fit! Plus they look like my sunglasses instead of something that Sugar Ray wore in the 90s. She grew out of the baby size and is now in the toddler size.

I don’t have any vining indoor plants, but if I did, I’d use these stakes.
