Image Usage Policy
All photos and videos on The Gold Hive are my original creative work and are protected by copyright. That means you need permission before using them. I’m always happy to share my assets! Here’s how it works.
Note: If you have not worked with me on a contracted campaign, all use of my content requires prior written permission. Please reach out to me at ashley@thegoldhive.com before using anything.
Organic Licensing — Included Free With a Contracted Partnership
When we work together on a paid campaign, the following uses are included at no extra cost:
Reposting to Instagram Stories — you can reshare my Reels or static posts directly to your brand's Stories.
Posting to your Instagram feed — I will use the Instagram Collaborator tool to co-publish to both of our feeds at the same time.
Email newsletters and your website — you may feature our campaign in a newsletter or on your site to highlight the partnership.
Important Notes: The Gold Hive must be tagged, credited, and linked to in the first 120 characters of any caption or description, before any "read more" break. That means @thegoldhive on social or a link to thegoldhive.com on web. Free use is limited to content created for our campaign. It does not extend to other images on my site, and does not cover any commercial or paid advertising use (see below).
Commercial Licensing — When You Want More
Put the content from our campaign to work! License my photos and videos to anchor your next product launch, use my imagery for your seasonal campaign, refresh your website with custom imagery, or drop a photo into your next catalog or mailer. Real lifestyle photography from a trusted creator outperforms stock every time.
Commercial licensing is available for any photo or video asset, of your choosing, from our campaigns.
Pricing:
Photos: $500 per photo, per year
Short-form video (60 sec or under): $1,000 per clip, per year
Long-form video (over 60 sec): $1,500 per clip, per year
What's covered:
Use my images or video in paid ads — social, display, search, and beyond
Use my images or video in catalogs, direct mail, and print marketing
Use my images or video in email marketing and on your website
Use my content in any branded placement where The Gold Hive is not credited, such as banner ads or product pages
A simple way to think about it: if you're putting money behind the content — running ads, printing it, or using it to directly sell — that's commercial licensing territory.
Important Notes: Licenses are non-exclusive — I retain the right to use and license the same content to others. Licenses are granted to the contracting brand only and may not be shared with or transferred to agencies, production companies, or any third party without written permission. Licenses cover US use only unless a broader territory is agreed upon in writing. Upon expiration, all licensed content must be removed from active placements — continued use requires renewal.
What's Never Allowed
Editing or altering my images or video in any way — no filters, color adjustments, cropping to remove context, or compositing. (Minor cropping and adding promotional text overlay is okay under commercial licensing only.)
Using my content for AI or machine learning purposes — my photos and videos may not be used to train, fine-tune, test, or otherwise develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, including but not limited to image generation, style transfer, or visual recognition tools. This applies whether the use is internal or through a third-party platform.
Screenshotting, screen-recording, or embedding my content as a workaround to these policies. All content, however captured or reproduced, is subject to the same rules.
Using my content outside the scope of what was licensed. If you're unsure whether something is covered, ask first.
Using any content without credit unless you have an active commercial license.
The Gold Hive retains full copyright of all photos and videos. Licensing grants usage rights only, it does not transfer ownership.
