Family Life
My baby is two! Time’s flying… we wish we could slow down these years… I can’t believe she’s two… and all those other cliché things to say. We celebrated her second trip around the sun in our backyard with a small gathering of friends.
Gifts perfect for little ones - all hand-selected by my toddler! These items will provide lasting fun, encourage creative play, and are fun for parents and caregivers, too!
My baby girl turned one year old this summer!! We celebrated her with a simple outdoor bash with a few friends and family. We had colorful decor, a custom felt crown, a pile of berries, and the sweetest one-year-old!
I’m so pleased to show you around my favorite room in the house for my favorite human in the world! The wallpaper, the colorful furniture, the plush rug, and the comfy seating - it couldn’t be more sweet and cozy - just like Margot.
Life is completely different with Margot and our home has evolved, too. She’s nearly 7 months old so I’m sharing how our house has shifted during this phase of her life.
Margot is six months old! We celebrated her half birthday with half a cake (for mom and dad), and a new swing (for her). Two of her favorite things to do are sit independently and stare at foliage, so we combined them into a treat for us to all enjoy together. We hung a lil’ baby swing where a planter used to be and I must say that a chunky baby is way more fun to admire than a rusty hanging basket.
Margot is a plump little 4-month-old and I love comparing her growth to just mere weeks earlier. I take oodles of photos every day, but I’ve been snapping monthly photos with a consistent theme to really see how much she’s growing and changing. I treasure the photos and the little calendar I’ve been building each month.
Life after birthing a baby is wild! The new little human is a lot to handle, and on top of it, my body was all out of sorts. There have been a few items and resources that I can’t imagine living without during these first few months after birth, so I’ve rounded them up here.
It’s been nearly three months since Margot was born! Over two whole months since this little nugget came into our lives. Here’s her birth story.
When we opened up the walls during our remodel, I knew I had to leave a time capsule behind the drywall. Plus, 2020 is quite a year to immortalize in the walls. Here's what I hid away to be found years and years from now!
Ross (my husband) is a mysterious member of The Gold Hive and you folks are curious about him! He travels for work a lot so he doesn’t often make appearances on the blog or Instagram, but he’s around here and there. I invited Instagram followers to ask questions for Ross (and for the two of us), so we sat down to answer your questions!
I created an organization and declutter challenge for the month of January in an effort to kick off the new decade with clarity at home. How did you do? How did I do?
I asked folks on Instagram to submit questions you had for me, and today’s the day I answer them!
I had a deadline for making a pie the day that I wanted to film, so I baked a lemon meringue treat while answering your Qs. The vid is 20 minutes, so maybe watch it on your lunch break? Or maybe while eating a pie?

Hi. It's been a while. I've missed this. I took a longer break than I planned. Life has gotten full. I've been developing film and knitting at soccer practice, attempting to garden with the girls and fussing around with furniture layouts. I’ve also been scheduling summer camps, refilling the watercolors multiple times a day, and trying to keep the toys tidied. Around the house, I’m adding color wherever it fits and making some changes to the overall function and feel.
