Weekly Roundup

What a week!! My kitchen is FINALLY under construction and I’m giddy with anticipation. I’m sharing the live updates on Instagram Stories, so I encourage you to follow me there. I’ll also have an update for you on the blog about the first week of construction soon. I’m thinking I’ll do a weekly renovation update each Monday in addition to lots of other posts about how and why we’re doing the things we’re doing. Subscribe to my email newsletter so you never miss a kitchen update.

Should I paint my kitchen cream and green and white and pink and yellow? I think so!

If you’re enjoying my renovation stories, go check out Cathy and Garrett’s DIY marble countertop DIY here and here then check out Natasha’s carriage house renovation.

Designer Leanne Ford came out with a new line of furnishings with Crate & Barrel and I’m here for it! This cane accent chair, this black vase, this chair that looks like it would feel like a cloud, and so many others have piqued my interest.

Yesterday, I went to an information session to learn about becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer for kids in the foster care system. It’s a really great program and I encourage you to find a local organization if you have a few hours each month to help a young person navigate life in foster care.

I wear the same striped sweater basically every day. It’s boxy, it’s comfy, but doesn’t make me feel frumpy. I can’t find it online anymore, but I rounded up some similar ones for you here.

Be careful about poisoning our bees.

Did you tune into my episode on the podcast True Tales From Old Houses? I talked about energy efficiency, sustainability, old houses, historic designation, and more! It’s a 30-minute chat that I think you’ll enjoy.

Alrighty, I’m off to go sort through piles of treasures at Architectural Salvage shops looking for pieces for this renovation, and I need to order my light switches - and you know which ones I’m going to get!
