Weekly Roundup

It’s been another week of kitchen renovations yet things are going slow right now, so I’m itching to see more progress. I just picked up some quality wood filler epoxy so I’m going to tackle some small projects while the crew works on finishing up the framing - eek! Catch up on the last week if you’ve missed out. I haven’t been listening to my podcasts and scrolling through my favorite blogs too much this past week, but I do have a few things to share with you, as always.

I’m downright in love with this whole-house renovation. I binged all of Jamie’s stories to watch the whole transformation unfold and it was inspiring to see her retain the original craftsman elements while infusing modern updates. I can’t get enough of each and every room.

My contractor is asking me for rough-in plumbing fixtures and electrical needs (push-button switches, duh) for the remodel and I’m not ready! I have a few things on site already, but for the other stuff, I’m just not mentally ready to make decisions yet. I’m still hunting for antiques and trying to decide on the little things like if I want a handheld shower-head or not. I’ve had years to think about these things but making decisions is definitely my Achilles heel. Eeek!

A home that’s made only of materials found within 100 miles of the site.

People often ask me “Where do you shop for rugs?” or “Do you have any temporary wallpaper brands to recommend?” or “What’s your favorite place to get old house parts?” Well, did you know the answer to all of those is a click away? I list all of my favorite resources and shops I hope to soon patronize on My Favorite Shops page. I list everything by category for your ease of shopping pleasure. So, bookmark it, print it and put it under your mattress, get it as a tattoo, whatever! Just know that it’s always there for you and I’m often adding new resources.

At some point, I’m going to have to stop linking to Cathy’s gorgeous renovations because it feels like I’m just obsessed. Well, I am. Unless she stops making over rooms, I just can’t stop recommending you admire her work. Check out Cathy and Garrett’s pantry makeover - that marble backsplash behind the faucet!

This is what I think about any time there’s a discussion or even thought of COVID-19. Also this on reframing our reaction.

I am all over this shoulder detail and sleeve length.

My tree mural print is on sale! The wall art prints are 35% off, everything else (notebooks, clocks, etc.) is 20% off. Did I mention there’s free shipping on orders over $99?

This is how I get with my decorative bowls.

I’m off to meal prep for the next week! We have a temporary kitchen but it isn’t the easiest space to make meals in, so I’m going to my mom’s house to borrow her kitchen. Thanks, mom!

Happy Friday!
