Halloween 2021 - Our The Great British Baking Show Family Costume

It’s our first Halloween with Margot, so naturally, we had to do a family costume. I couldn’t be more tickled with it!

Do you recognize us? We’re The Great British Baking Show! Ross is the silvery Paul Hollywood, I’m the colorful Prue Leith, and Margot is the Technical Challenge!

The whole look was inspired by Margot’s gingham onesie, which made me think of how host Sue called the table that contestants put their bakes on, “the gingham altar.” So, I knew that I then needed to hand make a pie for Margot to wear, order Ross jeans with the classic Paul fading, fill his hair with silver temporary dye, put some in my do, fashion a bold geometric necklace out of electrical wire, paint my old glasses red, and borrow a blouse from my mom. Oh, and of course I decided 10 minutes before taking the photo that I needed to paint Union Jack bunting.

You can take a look at a video compilation of the costumes coming together here.
