Weekly Roundup

Our kitchen was entirely disassembled, repainted, and then put back together again this past week. It’s been a pain being disrupted yet again, but we’re finally back to being able to cook and use the space - phew!

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you can see a preview of the kitchen here, but know it may not stay looking like that because I’m considering adding more color!

Did you catch my nursery design inspiration? Check out the conundrums I’ve been debating as well as loads of inspiration from designers like Lonika Chonda (pictured above).

This statement resonates with me so much. I’m really tired of decor for decor's sake, bland art, and uninspired tchotchkes that don’t do anything for the home or the people living in it. Let’s collect and curate instead of decorate, shall we?

A lot has changed in a year.

When I shared the current state of the nursery (which is admittedly a mess right now) on Instagram Stories yesterday, I also mentioned these boxes that Open Spaces kindly sent me. They’re large felt bins with a solid wood top making them the perfect storage for baby stuff I’m acquiring, plus they’ll grow nicely with babe. I imagine I’ll have one filled with diaper gear in the living room so it’s on hand but out of sight. Then, when she gets older she can put toys inside and use it as a coloring station on the top.

Goodwill doesn’t want your broken toaster.

Are you regularly cleaning your washing machine? I recommend getting into the routine now before it ever becomes a stinky issue. I use these cleaning tabs about once a month.

These are on my baking agenda for the weekend. Mmm.

I managed to break my glass French press, so I got this one as a replacement and love it. We got the 21oz which is perfectly sized for one small morning cup of brew for each of us.

The genocide in Palestine right now is atrocious. Here is an organization to support as they provide medical aid and COVID relief to victims in Gaza.
