Weekly Roundup

We had surprise guest visitors this week! Julia and Chris of www.chrislovesjulia.com were in town for a quick weekend escape to the sunshine of San Diego. They swung by the house and got an in-person tour of our little home and it was so nice to see them in real life. Here we all are lookin’ cute.

This episode of 99% Invisible was a goodie! They talk about a very un-sexy piece of machinery that has existed for ages could be just what we need to do away with traffic jams, make cities more equitable, and help us solve climate change. P.S. This is one of my favorite podcasts so subscribe!

This week I found my first official grey hair and I’m genuinely ecstatic. For YEARS I’ve dreamed of the day that I have a full head of grey and white hair just like my mom. My friend Cathy coincidentally wrote a blog post about her decision to accept her greys and grow out her dyed hair in favor of silver hues at the age of 37. I’m so in love with her mane.

I recently discovered @allsaintshouse and I’m in gushing over their home which is a converted gothic revival church. You’ve GOT to see it.

If you’re in the market for a Valentine’s Day card that isn’t mushy and sappy I recommend these ones! And if you’re in the market for V-Day art that isn’t cheesy, check out my roundup of prints!

I shared a photo of my living room and caught my chandelier in the frame. I don’t often show it because light fixtures tend to get cropped out but people were asking about it. The beauty I have is vintage from eBay but here are other similar antique fixtures you can get. As a friendly reminder, you can shop my house any time here.

Did you catch my winter 2020 house tour? I have a surprise house tour coming at you next week, so now is the time to watch the 2020 and 2018 tours here.

The sale on my closet organization system ends in a couple of weeks. Act now if you’re interested in organizing those closets! Learn about our system here.

One of my favorite shows came back for a second season and I’m taking my time watching each episode because I’m afraid to think of the day when I don’t have new ones to watch. Does anyone else do this or is it just me?

Two of my blogger friends (Yellow Brick Home and Natasha Habermann) were pulling nails yesterday so I recommended that they both get this tool. If you are doing any renovations and needing to pull nails from lumber to repurpose it or to safely store it, I highly recommend this $10 tool.

This illustration is me. And if you’re curious about my favorite, it’s this one.

Happy Friday!
