I recently got the itch to replace my dining room and living room rugs. Then, local rug dealer Mesa Vintage posted this beautiful 9x12 on her Instagram Stories and I knew I had to have it. So, here’s my new (old) rug sitting pretty in my dining room. I have plans to makeover more of the space, so stay tuned as I pull things together. I encourage you to follow local antique rug dealers on Instagram and check out my list of 40+ vintage rug shops if you’re in the market for new artwork for your floor. Oh, and be sure to get yourself a good rug pad!

I just re-ordered this exfoliant that I’ve been using for a few years and recommend it. I pat it on after I get out of the shower, and can attest to how clear it makes my skin feel. I went for a few months without it and when I started back up, there was a definite improvement. Note it’s cruelty-free and botanical-based!

Did you know that you can now get virtual consultations from some of your top designers like Heidi Caillier, Leanne Ford, Jake Arnold, Bobby Berk, and more?

The first 10-ish minute segment of this podcast talks about fresh air, radiators, and how they both apply to the history of human health. Worth a listen!

Sustainable investing has been a popular topic in our household as we look at diversifying our investments and making mindful choices. My friend Kristy, an Accredited Financial Counselor and low waste enthusiast worked with my other friend Polly, a social environmentalist, to put together a great comprehensive look at green banking. Take a look here!

I didn’t buy any new clothes in 2020 (save for some yoga leggings, I think), and in fact, I sold most of my good clothes on Poshmark! I feel like I’m ready to invest in some nice pieces so I just ordered a perfectly Spring-time handmade linen dress and I can’t wait for it to arrive! I’m also eyeing more linen pants.

The movie Minari comes out today! We bought our tickets to the virtual screening, did you?

Guess how many tons of furniture are thrown away in the US each year. Oof!

We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day so I forgot it was this weekend. If you also forgot but do celebrate (oops!) might I interest you in gifting some non-cheesy artwork? There’s nothing like good gifted art that says, “I love ya.” And as for it being tardy? Just say it was lost in the mail and gift some fair-trade slave-free chocolate this Saturday.

For Lunar New Year I’m going to eat a bunch of dumplings! Go out and buy some from your favorite Asian restaurants to support them during a challenging time of restaurant struggles and discrimination.

Happy dumpling eating!
