Weekly Roundup

Check out what Stephen and David did in their parlor! This room was pure studs when they bought the house and just look at what they’ve done!

I feel silly that it’s taken me this long, but we finally got an air purifier. We are the prime candidates for it - we live in a wildfire-prone area, we get allergies, planes fly over our house constantly, we’re mindful of VOCs, and we’ve been living in dusty renovations for years. Finally, we went ahead and got this air purifier with a HEPA filter. So far so good, and we’ll probably get a couple more to scatter throughout the house.

I’m smitten with this charming playroom.

I feel for those struggling with the cold weather throughout the country and especially those in Texas that have been deprived of the basic right of power and warmth. Here is a very comprehensive list of resources for those experiencing the disaster, those that are nearby and want to help, and a list of mutual aid funds to donate to. And here is a nonprofit working to get warmth to families in need. This is also a reminder to vote for people in power that will fight for equitable energy systems and less reliance on carbon to prevent catastrophes like this in the future.

On that note, here’s a link to everything in my emergency kit designed to help us in the event of a disaster. Have you checked the inventory and re-stocked your emergency kit recently?

I did a buuunch of research on finding just the right countertop for our home, our lifestyle, and most importantly, our environment and the people that live in it. Get the full scoop here.

This is one of the best movies I’ve watched in a long time. It’s so so visually striking! Here is where you can stream Some Kind of Heaven.

We also just finished season two of Homecoming and really enjoyed it.

We trimmed our palm trees with this extending pole saw and now I have nothing to cut down. San Diego folx, can I come trim your trees?

Have a good weekend, be safe, wear a double-layer mask.
