Weekly Roundup

This tablescape is my current pre-spring mood.

It’s been quite a thrilling week for me appliance shopping for the kitchen remodel. You think I’m kidding but this is one of my favorite hobbies so I’ve been on cloud nine. It feels good to have maybe possibly potentially kinda solidified my kitchen plan. It only took four years! You can catch up on where I’m at with the progress here.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I got this book as an audio recording, but it was so so bad as an audiobook that I picked up a paperback copy and it’s SO much better. It was recommended by Polly of my favorite zero-waste blogger and the book is insanely informative and has me thinking so much more about waste, the environment, global warming, and what we can do about it. This book is a must read if you care even an ounce about anything I just listed.

If you’re in San Diego next weekend and into architecture, here’s a free event for you.

Where will your plastic trash go now that China doesn't want it?

I’ve got a bunch of wood in my house from floors to molding to furniture. It’s a lot and I like to mix different varieties. It can be tricky though, so here’s a great article on how to mix wood tones.

The other day, I put away the fireplace screen, tools, and basket of fireplace wood. It makes the room feel so much lighter and brighter - perfect for spring. It’s the cheapest (read: free) way to transition for the upcoming season.

Environmental racism.

Ross and I went to see the California wildflower super bloom. It was kinda disappointing but still a pretty sight to see.

We started rewatching the show Parenthood. Oh boy, so good. Especially good for being a network television show - which I’m normally not into.

Happy Friday! I’m off to stare at refrigerators.
