That’s it. I’m moving to Sweden to buy this house and I wouldn’t change a single thing.

Do you know whose land you live on? Here’s an interactive map of native lands to see exactly which indigenous people live(d) where you now reside. I live on Kumeyaay land. The Kumeyaay people have called this region home for 10,000+ years.

I just started sewing (here’s the beginning of my dress and here’s the tutorial I followed) and I think it’s because I have the urge to distract myself. When kitchen renovations frustrate me or I feel a lack of control when things go wrong, I just want to do something I can be in charge of. Right now, that’s sewing. If you, too, are looking to pick up a new hobby, might I interest you in two free months of Skillshare? You can watch an unlimited amount of online classes from writing to illustration to cooking.

If I weren’t committed to making that dress, I’d probably buy this one or this one or this one. (Take an extra 40-50% off those with code GIANT). It’s hot so I want flowy and airy clothes stat!

Polly has a section in her newsletter titled, “where my money is going” of which she lists things she purchased or what organizations she donated to. I think it’s such a thoughtful way of looking at spending. Rather than saying, “I bought this,” imagine if we said, “I put my money towards this.” I find this language to be so much more of an intentional way of thinking about spending - especially if you’re trying to avoid frivolous purchases or wanting to be more mindful of what companies/products/materials you’re supporting. Give it a try!

Speaking of that, I put my money towards supporting independent winemakers this week. Join me and take $100 off your first wine order with this link.

Ross and I do a smoothie for breakfast every other day and it tends to be the same thing. Frozen blueberries, spinach, almond milk, protein powder, and whatever fruits/veggies/nuts/etc. are laying around. It’s become a staple, but this mint chip green smoothie is probably my favorite. It’s minty, creamy, and full of spinach. This week, I substituted the cacao nibs for chocolate protein powder for an extra boost. Mmm.

I keep looking at antique clocks on eBay and I keep failing to buy any. Decision fatigue is real right now.

I’m curious to know what you like best about my Weekly Roundups? Sometimes they lean more design, sometimes they are more about sustainability, and sometimes I give you homework. Is there anything in particular you like? I’m sure everyone will have different opinions, but I am curious to know what you come here looking for each Friday.

Have a good weekend. And please, please wear a mask. Please.
