Weekly Roundup

Margot’s nursery is in need of blackout curtains but I haven’t found any that speak to me. Dare I DIY my own to get the right fabric, the right room darkening level, and the right pleat? My bud Emily made her own and they look so good.

I wanted to get a piece of jewelry personalized with an ‘M’ for Margot. At first, I eyed this necklace, but decided I didn’t need something she could tug at. So, I ordered this signet ring with a custom monogram. I got it in solid gold so I never need to worry about taking it off for fear of tarnishing. It’s so pretty and delicate! Hint hint: it would make a great mother’s day gift!

I can’t get enough of these upcycled vintage quilts turned garments.

I just watched my 2020 house tour video and was so tickled to see how much has changed already! The kitchen! The nursery! I can’t wait to film a 2021 version.

Margot is only just hitting the three-month mark but I’m already excited about the day we can feed her solid food and have her drink from a cup. This is my go-to resource for feeding real food to babies. I truly can’t wait to see her smash an avocado all over her face.

I shared my postpartum essentials the other day, and I’m working on compiling my newborn necessities. Those little humans can sure come with a bunch of gear! I’m aiming to provide a minimal list for y’all - stay tuned.

One of my favorite TV shows is back with a third season!

Did you know we have a contract with the City of San Diego to make select restorations on our home? In return, we get a tax break to use the saved funds on the necessary work. I talk about the taxes, the designation, and associated construction woes here. This is on my mind because a couple of our projects that we’re contractually obligated to finish are due to be done soon so I have to send off paperwork.

We added this small fan to our bedroom to keep it cooler at night without turning on the AC.

Because I don’t have enough incomplete projects to juggle, I’m brainstorming what to do with our backyard. It needs an overhaul so I’m turning to my favorite software for designing room layouts, but this time to design the outdoor space. At this stage of the design, it’s very similar to designing a room - identifying where a dining table will go, figuring out how far apart the seating should be, etc. All about the design of the front yard garden is here.
